Doctors Note:

Great article. I am a great believer in eating meat, especially when it comes to maintaining a healthy body. Hearing another great reason why eating meat is beneficial makes me an even bigger believer.

I do disagree, however, with how a lot of these animals are being raised and treated. Not only is abusive treatment horrible for the animals but it is also unhealthy for consumers. When these animals are injected with hormones and antibiotics, physically and mentally abused, and have little or no walking and running space the quality of the meat is lost. Luckily, there are farmers who treat their livestock well and do not use any type of antibiotics or hormones. These are the farmers we need to support.  These free-range animals are of the highest quality and their meat offers many health benefits.

As for vegans, I would strongly recommend getting some sort of protein from an animal-based product as they contain essential protein not found in any other source and are a good source of vitamin B12 which your body needs. You can avoid eating the animals that are treated inhumanely and consume only products from free range animals who are not treated with hormones or antibiotics and are not physically or emotionally abused.
